Pen Holder

What do you do with all of your pens?
Are they thrown into a drawer?
Placed into a coffee cup?
Tossed on your desk?
Every where BUT where you need them?

How about a nice pen holder?

We made our pen holder out of  stuff we had on hand.
We are getting in the Stashbusting mode.
It's not too late for you to sign up for
Stashbusing September over at
The Tshirt Diaries

This is what you need to make your own pen holder
Spray Paint
wine rack (from the garage sale box)
Mardi Gras cups (souvenir from our Destin trip)

before & after

Spray paint your rack and cups.  We needed a 2nd coat.
Let dry
and Ta-da
you have a handy dandy Pen holder that did not cost a dime.
 (unless you needed spray paint).

A little tip for storing paint and gel pens.
To keep ink from leaking and drying out store pens horizontal.

Our helper for the day
Johnny Cash

You may remember this little fella as the scrawny kitten someone did a drop and run.  He is growing into such a handsome man.  Each day we are earning his trust.  We are now able to pick (when he wants us to) him up.  He is eating like all get out.  And talking up a storm.  So I guess the people who dropped him off knew the right people to become his family.

A friendship with some assembly required.

Johnny Cash

Do you ever get the feeling someone is watching you?
Or
You should be watching someone?

Well apparently someone thinks we are good animal parents.
Why you ask?
Because someone did a drop and run at my house.
They left this precious little angel.

His name?
Johnny Cash

How are we to catch him?
The BAIT
Hamburger meat meant for the dogs.

Each day he is getting closer and closer.
He is learning how to trust us.
We don't want to scare him.

Trust is letting go of needing to know all the details before you open your heart.

Pig Pig and More Pig...

Have you ever had one of those weeks when everything is going to the PIGS?
Well this week the pigs have come to us.

Meet our Pigs

We "Pig" sat for friends.

Potbelly PIGS

 Guinea PIG

HedgeHOG

 and

This little Piggy went to market.

Balloon PIG

and went weee weee weee all the way home.

I would like to tell you an amazingly sweet story about our piggy.  While doing our shopping with Ted (that was what Katie was calling him).  We met a lady who had on a breathing mask and gloves (and talking to herself).  I have to admit I thought she was a little strange.  When she noticed I was behind her she laughed and said oops I guess I was talking to myself.  I said the best of us do.  After a few minutes of us talking she asked about "Ted".  I told her he was staying at the market.  She turned to Katie and gave her money so Ted could come home with us.  Katie was uncertain if to take it.  I shook my head it was okay to take the money.  Our new friend Molly explained she has stage 4 Cancer and this was her 4th bout.  She said  her Doctor keeps asking how long she needs and she keeps giving him a time line.  When he asked this last time she said she needs 4 years.  She would like to see her youngest son graduate from College.   All she asked was for us to keep her in our prayers.  You bet we will keep Molly in our heart and prayers.
The moral of this story is-
LOVE more and JUDGE less!

Trash To Treasure

I am so excited when I see post about how people find trash on the side of the road and turn it into treasure.

It puts a big smile on my face when I see a book shelf re-stored.
It tickles my fancy when an old chair gets new springs.
It warms my heart when a beat up box gets a new life.
It fascinates when a man's shirt becomes a ladies dress.

Now that I have shown how much I love what people find on the side of the road.

This is what I FIND!?!?

A Kitten!!!

NO- not a book shelf
NO- not a chest of drawers
NO- not a chair
NOPE- I get a Kitten

I get lucky with a new addition to the Zoo.
Have I ever menitioned that I have
hold on to your seat

4 dogs
3 cats
1 bird
2 humans

I keep telling everyone that the Zoo is closed,
but some how I'm always at the right place at the right time.
Or- the wrong place at the wrong time.

I guess my heart is warming to the little fellow, so now I get to take my
trash and turn it in to the best treasure of all.

LOVE

One man's trash is another man's treasure
As one woman's junk gives others pleasure.
