Softball

OK, today I am going to do a little bragging on my kid.

I am so very proud of my granddaughter,
Mary Margaret graduated with a scholarship to play softball.

We made her a special softball bracelet.

If you have a baseball player you will enjoy taking a peek at

What will you need to make a bracelet for your special player or Mom?

Softball/Baseball
Embroidery Thread
Elastic Thread
Button
Tacky Glue
Felt (in school/team color)

Cut seams from the ball.

Sew embroidery thread around sides of the ball.  This is easy because you can use the holes from where you ripped the seams to take off the leather.  Tie off thread and leave about 1 inch.

Stevie would like to help.

Now is the time to add your embroidery or decorate how you wish.  If you don't have an embroidery machine cut letters from felt- like Tai did for the baseball version.  She also sewed on buttons for decorations.

Cut 3" from elastic.  Make loop, large enough for button to fit thru.  Sew loop to one end of leather.  Glue left over elastic to bottom of leather.  Sew button to top of other side of loop.

Use the ball to make a template on the felt.  Cut out about 1/8" inside the line and glue to the underside of the ball with Tacky Glue.

You now have a gift for all your softball players or the great Moms who take great care of our little ball players.

  1. Hi there, can you post the size needle that you used to embroider? I am using a Brother PE770 and have never tried to embroider leather. SO, just looking for a little direction. Love this, can't wait to make it! Thanks!
